I did it!

Wow, I did it! I ran the Swindon Half Marathon in an official time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds, lots faster than I was expecting. It was so much fun and the crowd were brilliant- handing out handfuls of jelly babies and cheering us on up the gruelling hill-climbs, I was grinning madly the whole way round. I can hardly walk today, but it was worth it. Not sure I will be doing it again in a hurry though!

Thanks again to everyone who sponsored me- so far I've raised a fabulous £310 for Prospect Hospice. And there's still time to add to the total, by clicking on the button below.

Thanks!

sporty sabatical

Hello readers and apologies for my recent blogging hiatus. It feels like I've been spending every spare second training up for my half marathon, which is finally taking place this Sunday. My usual pontificating about pointless, pretty things will resume again shortly.

I'm starting to feel very nervous indeed, but people with former experience in these things keep telling me the nervous energy is a good thing - I hope they're right! I have also felt incredibly buoyed by the tremendously generous support I have received from friends, colleagues and, of course, you guys. If anybody else would like to sponsor me, you can click on the little button below. Thanks folks, and please wish me luck! xxx
